We must now consider the object of contrition. Under this head there are six points of inquiry:

A1 Whether a man should be contrite on account of his punishment?

A2 Whether, on account of original sin?

A3 Whether, for every actual sin he has committed?

A4 Whether, for actual sins he will commit?

A5 Whether, for the sins of others?

A6 Whether, for each single mortal sin?
