We must now consider the effects of pleasure; and under this head there are four points of inquiry:

A1 Whether expansion is an effect of pleasure?

A2 Whether pleasure causes thirst or desire for itself?

A3 Whether pleasure hinders the use of reason?

A4 Whether pleasure perfects operation?
